How to enable 2FA for your X account#
A Step-by-Step guide how to set up two-factor authentication for X
Download Authenticator App
Before we start, download the Authenticator App from your Apple device’s App Store and set it up as your main Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) option. Here is how to set up it.
Open your X app
Log in to your X account and tap your profile picture. From the sidebar, select Settings and privacy.

Go to Security settings
In the Settings section, tap Security and account access, then choose Security.

Choose a two-factor authentication method
Select Two-factor authentication, then toggle on the Authentication app option.

Confirm your identity and start the setup
Verify it’s you by entering your X account password or a code sent via email by X. Then tap Get started.

Open the Authenticator App
Tap the Link app option. This will open the Authenticator App and display your X account details. Tap Save.

Confirm the code
The Authenticator App will display a code for your X account. Tap to copy the code, then paste it into the field on X. Tap Confirm to complete the setup. Once finished, you’ll have the option to Get Backup Code.

Save your X Backup Code
Tap Save Screenshot. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Store this code in a safe place in case you ever lose access to your 2FA codes. You can also save the code under Backup Codes in your X account settings in the Authenticator App.
