How do I import accounts from Apple Passwords?
If you’ve saved your two-factor authentication (2FA) codes in Apple’s built-in Passwords app, you can easily move them to the Authenticator App. This is useful if you want to manage your verification codes in our app.
Here’s how to do it using Apple Passwords:
Open the Passwords app:
Start the export process:
On iPhone or iPad, tap the overflow button (three dots) in the top-right corner, and on Mac, click File in the menu bar. Then tap Export Data to Another App.Select your accounts:
Choose the account(s) you want to export and tap Continue.Send to the Authenticator App:
Tap Continue, select the Authenticator App as the destination, and confirm to proceed.Authenticate the transfer:
The Authenticator App will open automatically. Verify your identity using your password, Face ID, or Touch ID.Confirm the import:
When prompted, tap Import to add your accounts to the Authenticator App.Check your accounts:
Once imported, the Authenticator App will start generating verification codes automatically for your accounts.
ℹ️ Tip: The Apple Passwords option is designed for accounts already set up with 2FA in Apple’s Passwords app. For new accounts, use QR codes or secret keys to link them directly to the Authenticator App. Learn more here.
